Theresa’s Babymoon: Magical Glasscabin in Dalen

In the spring, my partner and I, accompanied by our beloved dog Mocha, embarked on a special babymoon adventure in Norway. Our destination was Dalen, just 1.5 hours from the Larvik ferry, where we stayed at 

, a stunning glass cabin perched at Vidsyn Midjås. 

From the moment we arrived, the sweeping views of the mountains and town exceeded every expectation we had for the trip.

We spent two serene days at Fenja, indulging in quiet moments and exploring the local treasures. The glass cabin provided an ideal blend of modern comfort and natural beauty, and the surrounding landscape offered endless opportunities for adventure. One of the most memorable moments was visiting 

, the iconic floating sauna, as well as hiking the 

. The region’s folklore enriched our experience—stories of trolls, huldra, and other mystical creatures seemed to bring the landscape to life.

After full days of exploring, we would return to our cabin, light a fire on the terrace, and relax with a drink while watching the sunset over the mountains. The combination of crisp air, birdsong, and the warmth of the fire made for unforgettable evenings.

My tips for the making the most of your adventure to Fenja, Dalen

 While Vidsyn Midjås is beautiful year-round, I recommend visiting in spring or autumn when Dalen is tourist-free. We had the hiking trails and viewpoints all to ourselves!

 Start your journey early to maximize your time in Dalen and the glass cabin. Two nights are a must for the full experience.

 If I could do it again, I would save the best for last and end the trip at Vidsyn Midjås, as it was the highlight of our entire journey!

Fenja is a magical glass cabin that rests on a cliff with a view of the valley, the mountains and the Telemark Canal. Here you will find peace and a rare natural experience.
 
The cabin is comfortably furnished with a comfortable bed, dining area, sofa bed and a small nook with a coffee/tea station.
At the cabin you will find yoga rugs, woolen rugs and bed linen.
 
You will find towels in the bathroom in the main house only 100 meters away.
On the veranda there are cozy seats and a fire place.
 
Breakfast is included in the price and available in the main house between *****.
 
Feel free to bring your pet to Fenja.
 
NOTE YOU NEED A CAR WITH 4 WHEEL DRIVE IN THE WINTER.

Vidsyn Midjås AS

Wauw! En færgetur og 1,5 times kørsel fra Danmark, og pludselig befandt vi os i de mest fortryllende omgivelser - midt i noget af det fineste, norske natur. 

Glashytterne giver en luksuriøs oplevelse af, at være en del af naturen og værterne har sørget for at intet er overladt til tilfældighederne. Vi havde én dag i regnvejr og én dag i solskin - ville ikke have været nogle af de to oplevelser foruden. For når det regner, kan jeg ikke forestille mig et bedre sted at være i hele verdenen! Disen der bevæger sig elegant omkring bjergene og grantræerne, fuglene der kvidrer, regndråberne der danser ned af glashytten og kaffe fra den bedste udsigt under dynen. Det kunne bare noget helt særligt!

Foruden selve hytten, der er en kæmpe oplevelse i sig selv, er der masser af spændende oplevelser og vandreture omkring Dalen. Vil derfor anbefale mindst to nætter i disse fantastiske hytter!
