Sine’s summer getaway: A cozy escape to Yggdrasil Igloo in Skåne

Our journey began with a smooth train ride from Copenhagen to Höör Station, where our host kindly offered to pick us up, even though we had planned to take the bus. After a short 8-minute drive through lush green fields and past majestic trees and horses, we arrived at the stunning property. The igloo was perfectly located by the water, surrounded by nature, offering an incredible sense of seclusion and peace.

Upon arrival, our host helped us unload the car, gave us a thorough tour of the igloo, and shared all the information we needed for our stay. As he left, he promised to return at 6 PM to drop off our dinner. We quickly settled into the igloo and were immediately captivated by the panoramic view from inside. The igloo was beautifully designed and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

As the evening sun warmed the deck, we fired up the grill to prepare the burgers we had ordered. The meal was delivered with everything laid out and ready to cook. Sitting on the deck, enjoying the delicious food and the tranquil surroundings, we knew we had made the right choice for our getaway. We spent the evening playing backgammon, watching the sunset, and listening to music—a perfect end to a perfect day.

The next morning, we awoke to the breathtaking view of the water from our bed. The calm and peacefulness of the scene set a serene tone for the day. After soaking in the morning sun on the deck, we enjoyed a delightful breakfast that included freshly baked buns, croissants, yogurt, juice, and freshly brewed coffee. The breakfast, like everything else, was delivered right to our door, enhancing the luxurious feel of our stay.

Pack Light: You won’t need much, but do bring some warm clothes for the cooler evenings, especially if you plan to spend time outside on the deck.

No Fridge: If you bring your own food, keep in mind that there’s no fridge. We managed to cool some items by placing them in the lake overnight—make use of the natural surroundings!

Seasonal Visits: We visited in August, which was perfect for spending time outdoors. While winter visits would be beautiful, they would likely involve more time inside the igloo. For the full experience, consider visiting during warmer months.
