Rebecca’s Cozy Nature Escape at a Treetop Cabin in Rindal, Norway

Our peaceful stay at a treetop cabin in Rindal

At the end of September, my mother, boyfriend, and I traveled to Rindal, Norway, for a peaceful escape in nature. We stayed at Jon’s treetop cabin, an idyllic hideaway nestled among the trees.

Our goal was to disconnect from daily life and immerse ourselves in nature’s tranquility, while enjoying each other’s company. The setting was perfect for this, offering us both seclusion and beauty.

Where we stayed

The adventure began with a 900-meter hike from the parking lot to the cabin. We walked through spectacular, wild terrain surrounded by towering mountains, pine trees, and patches of blueberry bushes. When we reached the top of the hill, the treetop cabin came into view, nestled among the trees with a thick mist hanging behind it. The path was marshy, so our shoes got wet, but it only added to the authenticity of the experience. Once inside, we lit the wood stove, warming up and drying off while taking in the stunning view over the meadow.

The cabin itself exceeded our expectations. The cozy wood stove, the terrace with a fire pit, and the fully equipped kitchen made it feel like a luxurious nature retreat. Upstairs, we could lie in bed and listen to the rain while gazing out at the mountains. It was the perfect glamping experience—blending the wildness of nature with the comforts of home.

Insider Tips for Future Travelers

1. Arrive During Daylight: It’s best to arrive while it’s still light, as there’s a 900-meter walk from the parking lot to the cabin. The trail is marked with red poles and dots, but navigating is much easier in daylight.

2. Pack Waterproof Footwear: The area around the cabin can be quite marshy, so it’s practical to bring shoes or boots that can handle getting wet.

3. Cozy Slippers Provided: Warm wool slippers are available in the cabin, so you can stay comfortable indoors after spending time outside.
