Our stay in the treetop cabin in Feiring

Along with two of my best friends, Martin and André, we spent the night in an architect-designed cabin high up in the treetops. After just an hour’s drive from central Oslo, we found ourselves in the idyllic village of Feiring, located in northern Eidsvoll. Our goal for the trip was to hike Eidsvoll’s highest peak, Skreikampen, at 698 meters above sea level.

Along the way, we also learned about the village’s rich mining history, where iron ore and emeralds were once mined. We were also excited to enjoy the view with a cup of coffee on the veranda and cook dinner on the fire pit as darkness fell. We were lucky with the weather and got to do everything we had hoped for.

Our experience during the stay

The cabin was bright, modern, and clean – we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The bathroom had underfloor heating, a shower, and a toilet, making the stay even more comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the beds were made up with soft linens. There was also chopped wood available, so it was easy to get a fire going. The view from the cabin was stunning, and since it was quite secluded, we could enjoy the peacefulness – the only sound we heard was sheep in the distance.
