Soren and Sonya Lunoe first came to Turon Gates in 1972 on a camping trip.  They fell in love with its natural beauty and, after 4 days, decided they would love to retire there some day. Their dream was to create a bush retreat close enough to get away for a few days but far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of the city far behind. Each cottage location was carefully selected to afford complete privacy and stunning outlooks over the rolling countryside or over the tranquil river.  

Turon Gates spreads over 6000 acres of natural Australian Bush where wildlife abounds. Tranquil and unspoilt, the property is located around 2.5 hours from Sydney CBD with pet-friendly accommodation options. It is located in the Blue Mountains foothills, around 45 to 60 mins drive from Katoomba, Mudgee, Bathurst & Lithgow.
 
With well-built private rustic self-catering log cabins, glamping tents and campsites situated along 12 km of crystal clear trout stream and cottages with sensational mountain views, Turon Gates is an idyllic escape in the Australian bush. With lots of activities and unique places to visit nearby, there is much to do, or nothing to do - the choice is yours when you come to Turon Gates!

Turon Gates is now managed by Michael Lunoe, Soren and Sonya's son, and his wife Alex. You are welcome to drop in to the Manager's Cottage for a cappuccino or a glass of wine.

But if you just feel like being alone, the nice thing about Turon Gates is that you never need to see anyone. It's totally up to you.

And for the meantime there are not many places where you can get mobile reception at Turon and wifi is limited - and that's just the way we like it.
