Welcome to Birdbox Reksta, which is idyllically located on an island outside Florø. Here you are at one with nature and can see both sunrise and sunset from your bed. The surroundings are rich in wildlife, including sheep, deer and eagles, and there are beautiful hiking areas just around Birdboxen, whether you want to take a mountain hike or a swim in the sea.

You take a regular boat from Florø to Rognaldsvåg, which stops at Reksta. From there you can drive to Reksta school in Indre Reksta and park about 300m from Birdboxen. Then you must have booked a place on the regular boat in advance, for your own car both to Reksta and back to Florø before you travel. Otherwise, you can take the regular boat without a car and park your car in Florø. Walking time at Reksta is then about 40 min. on flat terrain on a marked path/road. By arrangement, you can be driven by the host. Pictures and more information will be sent when booking.

From Reksta school and the parking lot there, you walk about 300m to get to Birdboxen which includes a few meters of elevation gain to get up. Walk across the school grounds and follow the marked path to Birdbox Reksta. At the schoolhouse there is access to a bathroom with shower and toilet. At the Birdbox you have access to a Birdbox toilet with a separating toilet.

There is a grocery store on the island when you come ashore from the boat. It may therefore be a good idea to plan the purchase of food and drinks in advance of your stay.

Birdbox Reksta collaborates with local operators such as Reksta Villsau. They deliver, among other things, locally sourced organic food such as cured sausage from wild sheep and deer, and other products such as sheepskin and butt warmers. The products can be pre-ordered and will be ready for your stay.
