Authentic, warm and in harmony with nature

Here you can enjoy the beautiful view over the fjord with a good cup of tea by the window or take a stroll along the coastline down to the boathouse.

Borrow the rowing boat, canoe, or take a refreshing dip in the sea before breakfast with freshly baked sourdough bread and an espresso from the farm's organic bakery and café

INFORMATION ABOUT AARVIK KLYNGETUN 
Aarvik gard has buildings dating back to the 18th century and the 19th century with the oldest; smokehouse with soil in the roof and most likely the forge is also from that time or older.

The yard is surrounded by hills that I beat every summer and has a lovely location right down by the sea. There is a pebble beach and several nice places where you can jump into the sea and swim. 

Vårfloren is a small house for the animals up on our stolen which our animals graze on, here it is lovely to go for a walk and enjoy the view over the Bjørnefjord at the top. The trip takes approx. 20 minutes from the yard. There is also old hayfield and natural pasture in the area opposite the farm.

In løo I was building a new organic bakery which will be completed at the end of May. The bakery is open Thursday-Sunday during the school holidays. Feel free to look at our homepage aarvikgard.no

Horticulture has existed since before the 16th century and was taken over by our ancestors at the end of the 18th century. The yard consists of 13 buildings, of which 4 stand in a cluster with two stoves with a lot of handmade and beautifully hand-carved/decorated furniture that our ancestors made, etc. and skykjo. The fire house is a short distance from the cluster yard. The old forge is located outside the cluster yard. The small house is also located a short distance from the cluster yard towards the sea. Otherwise, there are the remains of several farm mills up in the Årvik river. Down by the lake where the river runs out (Mjølhålo) there is an old sea arch and boathouse in gates, a workshop and a sawmill. So that here it is possible to travel back in time and see a bit about how people were in the past.
