Hand-built road cabin with sauna

Would you like a few days in peace and contemplation? A place without internet, TV and PC? A place with opportunities for recreation with beautiful walks, sauna and cold water tubs? So take a look at Hærvejshytten, which is located in our large private backyard, where the idea is to provide space for just that!
Hærvejshytten is built according to old traditions and only using hand tools such as axes, planes, chisels, hand drills and saws. Only natural oil products are used for exterior and interior maintenance. Natural insulation with moss and wood fiber. Service, furniture and fixtures are primarily recycled items found at local flea markets. Mattresses, duvets and bedding are exclusively natural, hypoallergenic and organic. Space for 2 - bring your own equipment and you can be 4. The cabin is furnished and equipped for 2 people, which means one double bed in the loft, crockery, 2 armchairs and 2 dining chairs. If you also want to be more people, you must bring the relevant equipment for it yourself, such as sleeping mats and sleeping bags. A maximum of 2 more people can be physically accommodated in the living room.

For the sustainability aspect of tidying up, using it once, then washing again, bed linen, towels, tea towels and cloths are NOT included as standard. However, it can be purchased for two people if you, as a hiker, do not want the extra packing. Buy it as an add-on here on the site and we will have it ready in the cabin. There is a small kitchen with two hotplates, kettle and fridge. There is also a toilet and shower in the cabin.

Sauna
The sauna, like the cabin, is hand-built and far away oozes coziness and relaxation. Enjoy the scent of the essential oils that are added to the water and poured over the hot stones of the wood-fired oven. Listen to the quiet crackle of the stove while you look up at the sky through the skylight. Go outside and lie down in the ice-cold water in the bathtub and feel the blood pumping through your veins before you go back in for the next round... The sauna can be used freely by polite self-service for a payment of DKK 300, which can be purchased here on the site. This price includes all participants of the stay. The sauna must be lit 2-3 hours before the planned sauna session and have fuel continuously supplied every 20-30 minutes until it reaches 75-90 degrees. Firewood is included in the price.

The Army Road
Hærvejen goes right past the cabin and is thus an obvious place to settle down for the night if you are on a longer pilgrimage on the Jutland ridge. You can also find good hiking routes around Gudenåen and Skjern Åen's springs, at Rørbæk lake (5 km. south of the cabin) and at Hampen Lake (5 km. north of the cabin).
